Citations

Every claim in an Intel brief or a Research answer is cited to the page it came from. How to see the source, preview the page, zoom in and open the whole page.

Each claim ends with a small number, its citation. It points to the document, the page and the exact text the claim rests on.

The marker

The number after a claim. Its colour says how the source relates to the claim.

Hover the number to see its citation card. Click it to keep the card open; press Esc to close it.

The citation card

• The documents and pages the claim rests on. "page 3" is the page within the document; hover it to see where that page sits in the uploaded file.
• The cited text, word for word.
• Open shows the page in its own window, the cited text boxed.
• Open in review room opens the page in Doc Review with the cited text selected.

Hover a sentence

You don't have to aim for the number. Rest the pointer on a cited sentence: its card opens faintly beside the window, clear of the text you are reading. Move onto the card to read it.

Preview the page

Hover a cited text in the card: its page opens beside the card, where there is room — the document and page on top, the cited text boxed.

Zoom in

Rest on the preview for half a second, or click it: the page opens four times larger, the cited text in the middle, readable at full size.

• Scroll to see what is above or below it; drag to move around.
• It stays after the card closes. It closes 3 seconds after the pointer leaves it; come back sooner to keep it.

Open the whole page

Keep the pointer on the zoomed page for 6 seconds: the whole page opens as a window in its place — the same size, the text you were reading still under the pointer, the rest of the page above and below. Leaving the zoomed page starts the count again.

The window stays above Research Genius until you close it. Like any document window, it moves, resizes, zooms and turns pages.

Example

"Conflict: existing mortgage balance is $150,000 on application, $120,000 on statement. 12,13"

• Hover 12,13: two documents, both marked conflicting — 2026-08-15_urla-1003_jane-doe.pdf and 2026-08-01_mortgage-statement_jane-doe.pdf, page 1 of each.
• Click a document in the card for its cited text: "Example Bank | XXXX1234 | $1,200.00 | $150,000.00 | Conventional" on the application, "Outstanding Principal | $120,000.00" on the statement.
• Hover the application's cited text, then rest on its preview: page 1 zoomed in on $150,000.00.
• Keep the pointer there 6 seconds: page 1 opens as a window around it, above Research Genius.
